We also offer custom oral appliances for patients who snore or have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. These appliances are worn while sleeping and gently position the lower jaw forward to help keep the airway more open.

Because snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea, proper medical evaluation is important. If sleep apnea is suspected, we may recommend speaking with your physician or a sleep specialist before moving forward with treatment.

For some patients who cannot comfortably use a CPAP machine, a custom oral appliance may be an appropriate alternative. In certain situations, medical insurance may provide coverage when the appliance is prescribed for diagnosed sleep apnea and the required documentation is provided by a physician. Coverage depends on the individual plan and cannot be guaranteed.
